WebSphere Remote Server V7 presenta dos paquetes nuevos: IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition y Retail Store Starter Edition con Informix Dynamic Server V7, estas dos ediciones:

  • Amplía la funcionalidad del antiguo WebSphere Remote Server Starter Edition, con un nombre nuevo orientado al sector de comercio minorista.
  • Incluye las últimas versiones de IBM WebSphere Application Server (V7), WebSphere MQ (V7) y, en función del paquete seleccionado, o IBM DB2 Workgroup Server Edition (V9.5) o Informix Dynamic Server (V11.5).
  • Cuenta con un nuevo producto, WebSphere sMash, que permite a los clientes y Business Partners de IBM crear de forma sencilla aplicaciones basadas en web y proporcionar mensajería ligera para aplicaciones de almacenamiento.
  • Proporciona herramientas y documentación ampliadas para los procedimientos de instalación y gestión.
    -En todos los paquetes incluye funcionalidades de aceleradores de gestión de sistemas que optimizan y automatizan la instalación y configuración de los servidores de almacenes minoristas.

WebSphere® Remote Server’s IBM Retail Store Server Editions deliver a fully integrated platform to help manage remote environments. This infrastructure offering extends the IBM Enterprise Business Integration technology to distributed locations, enabling integration from the enterprise to the edge of your business.

WebSphere Remote Server and its IBM Retail Store Server Editions, are a core component of the IBM Retail Industry Framework. The IBM Retail Store Servers Editions are a pre-integrated, pre-tested package of IBM software products designed specifically to support the store of the future.

WebSphere Remote Server Editions integrates diverse systems in the distributed environment, such as existing IBM Point-of-Sale (POS) applications and new POS solutions provided by IBM Business Partners, with the infrastructure to quickly deploy and manage new solutions built around the IBM Retail Store Server Editions. It links each remote node and the enterprise to help customers determine whether they have the right goods and services, in the right location, at the right price, and with the level of service and the unique shopping experience that consumers demand. Also available is the IBM Tivoli Monitoring and Provisioning Add On for IBM Retail Store Server which provides remote functionality to manage and maintain the store infrastructure. For complex store environments, two store enterprise service buses are available: IBM WebSphere Message Broker Retail Store Edition and IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus Retail Store Edition.
