Item-level recovery of Microsoft Exchange data

Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Microsoft Exchange works in conjunction with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack or IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Mail, either of which can provide a file system-level, point-in-time view of a Microsoft Exchange database backup. Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Microsoft Exchange can then recover individual e-mail messages and other objects from the backup database. It can even retrieve good items from a corrupt database.

Microsoft Exchange objects can be recovered from any previous point in time, enabling fast recovery from virus attacks and rolling corruptions. Objects can then be restored directly to an Exchange Server or sent via SMTP to a user-defined destination.

For more secure operations and access, Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Microsoft Exchange integrates with Active Directory and Exchange Server security to help limit access to only authorized users at both the backup and restore systems.
