IBM® Rational® Ada Embedded Developer is an integrated development environment for Ada/C/C++ applications in embedded target environments. It is powered by IBM Rational Apex® integrated development software and combines the host environment with industry-leading embedded technology for host-target development of real-time embedded systems. Rational Ada Embedded Developer supports the Sun SPARC Solaris operating system and includes an efficient cross-compiler for the MIPS, Motorola 68000 family, Intel® x86 and Pentium® architecture, and RH-32 microprocessor families.

Supports the Wind River Tornado development environment—including VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS)—and IBM Rational Exec, the Rational all-Ada tasking environment.
