IBM Rational Functional Tester は、機能テストおよび回帰テストの自動化ツールです。このソフトウェアを使用すると、機能テスト、回帰テスト、GUI テスト、およびデータ駆動型テストを自動化できます。Rational Function Tester は、Web ベースのアプリケーション、.Net、Java、Siebel、SAP、端末エミュレーター・ベースのアプリケーション、PowerBuilder、Ajax、Adobe Flex、Dojo Toolkit、GEF、Adobe PDF 文書、zSeries、iSeries、および pSeries などのさまざまなアプリケーションをサポートします。

  • 自動化されたテスト: ScriptAssure テクノロジーにより、アプリケーション・ユーザー・インターフェースの頻繁な変更にも自動的に対応します。
  • データ駆動型テスト: テスト・データの組み合わせを変えながら同じテスト操作を実行できます。
  • テスト・スクリプト: ユーザー処置記録機能に、複数のカスタマイズ・オプションと高度なスクリプト・メンテナンス機能を組み合わせます。
  • 統合: IBM Rational Team Concert および IBM Rational Quality Manager との統合により、作業項目へのアクセスや論理的または複合的な SCM テスト資産のサポートが可能です。

ストーリーボードによるテスト

  • Rational Functional Tester には、テスト操作を表すための、視覚的なストーリーボード形式があります。
  • ストーリーボード・テストは、自然言語のテスト説明とアプリケーションのスクリーン・ショットによる視覚的編集とを組み合わせます。
  • 初心者のテスターは専門のテスターとコミュニケーションを取りながらテスト・フローを理解できるため、テスト・スクリプト・コードを読んだり書いたりせずにテスト操作を編集できます。

自動化されたテスト

  • Rational Functional Tester には、高度な ScriptAssure テクノロジーが採用されているため、頻繁なユーザー・インターフェースの変更に対応し、保守にかかる人員増加を防ぎます。
  • ScriptAssure はファジー・マッチング・アルゴリズムを利用して、テスト作成後にオブジェクトに変更が加えられた場合でも、テスト実行中に変更対象のオブジェクトを検索します。
  • キーワードと関連付く自動化スクリプトを開発できます。
  • キーワード・テストにより、スクリプトの再利用を促進し、手動テスト・サイクル中でも手動テストなら自動化機能を利用できます。

データ駆動型テスト

  • Rational Functional Tester は、テスト記録中に入力されたデータを自動的に検出して、データ駆動型のテストの準備をします。
  • スプレッドシートに似たデータ・エディターを使用して、再生時にテストで使用するカスタマイズされたデータ・セットを作成できます。
  • Rational Functional Tester は、複数ポイントでの動的データの検証と、正規表現によるパターン・マッチングのサポートを管理します。

テスト・スクリプト

  • Rational Functional Tester では、Java または Visual Basic .NET のいずれかを選択することができます。 Java を使用するテスターは Eclipse Java エディターで作業し、Visual Basic .NET を使用するテスターは Visual Studio .NET で作業します。
  • Rational Functional Tester は、テスト記録機能を除いて、Linux プラットフォームでのテストの作成、編集、実行に必要なスクリプト機能をすべて備えています。
  • Windows プラットフォームでは、Rational Functional Tester は記録、編集、実行、すべての機能をサポートします。
  • Rational Functional Tester では、バージョン管理の自動化がサポートされていて、複数のテスト・セットの維持と並行開発が可能になります。

統合

  • Rational Functional Tester には IBM Jazz との統合機能が搭載されており、コラボレーティブなアプリケーション・ライフサイクル管理をサポートします。
  • Jazz Eclipse Client との統合により、Rational Functional Tester から Rational Team Concert および Rational Quality Manager の作業項目にアクセスできます。
  • Rational Team Concert との拡張 SCM 統合により、テスト資産の管理と共有をサポートします。
