Tivoli® Netcool® Network Mediation efficiently collects, processes and distributes traffic data for telecom networks.

Supports multi-vendor, multi-technology environments with variety of protocols, complex data formats and custom data processing requirements. Supercedes IBM Virtuo Mediation.

Product requirements

System requirements:

Tivoli Netcool Network Virtuo Mediation is a Java™-based, hardware-independent solution. Its modular design enables you to extend its range in a "plug-and-play" fashion.

Client environment:

  • Intel®-based with minimum 1GHz CPU and 512MB RAM

  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or XP, Solaris 9 and 10, Red Hat Advanced Server (AS) 4.0 and HP-UX 11

  • Sun JDK version 1.5

Server environment:

  • Minimum 1GB RAM and 20GB disk space

  • Solaris entry-level servers are sufficient for test and training systems, for example, V210

  • PC/Linux®, 2GHz Pentium® IV are sufficient

Recommended platform:

  • IBM BladeCenter® HS21 with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 AS for x86

Architecture:

Tivoli Netcool Network Mediation has been validated on the following architectures:

- Access Zone (the GUI clients)

  • Intel/Windows XP/2000

  • All of the platforms listed for Control Zone

- Control Zone (the VM platform)

  • Solaris 9 or 10 (both UltraSparcand AMD)

  • HP/HP-UX 11.23 (both PA-RISC and Itanium®)

  • Intel/Linux Red Hat AS 4.0

- Execution Zone (the ECs)

  • Solaris 9 or 10 (both UltraSparcand AMD)

  • HP/HP-UX 11.23 (PA-RISC)

  • Intel/Linux Red Hat AS 4.0, Itanium

Supported databases:

  • Oracle Standard Edition 9.2, 10.1 and 10.2

  • Apache Derby
