Rational Software Architect Extension for Deployment Planning は、デプロイメント仕様によってデプロイメントのリスクを軽減し、開発チームと運用チームのコミュニケーションを改善します。

充実した意味体系を持つトポロジー・テンプレートやデプロイメント・モデルによって開発チームと運用チームの間のコミュニケーション・ギャップを埋め、ソフトウェア・ソリューションを初回から正しくデプロイできるようにします。この拡張機能を IBM® Rational® Software Architect と組み合わせて使用すると、次のような機能が提供されます。

  • UML および Eclipse との統合。デプロイ対象ソフトウェアをデプロイメント計画と対応付けるために、概念的な表現 (UML、SoaML) または具象的な表現 (EAR、WAR など) を使用できます。
  • デプロイ対象ソフトウェアの環境面の要件や機能以外の要件を満たすために正しいインフラストラクチャーを正しく構成できるような計画の作成を支援するデプロイメント計画ツール。
  • 豊富なツール・パレット。多くのインフラストラクチャー・テクノロジー・ドメインの表現を含み、テクノロジー機能や構成ポイントに関する広範な知識をカプセル化しています。
  • インフラストラクチャーのトポロジーやデプロイメント計画についてテンプレート (パターン) を作成して再利用する機能。標準化が促進され、デプロイメントの計画活動に要する期間が短縮されます。
  • BIRT によるトポロジー・レポート。
  • IBM® Rational® Asset Manager との統合により、デプロイメント・テンプレート、カスタム・ドメイン (パレット)、および計画を管理できます。
  • IBM® Tivoli® Application Dependency Discovery Manager との統合。実際にプロビジョンされたインフラストラクチャーと、IBM® Tivoli® Change and Configuration Management Data Base に登録されている生きた構成データに基づいて、トポロジーとテンプレートの作成を支援します。
