Features and benefits

IBM WebSphere Appliance Management Center V4.0 provides capabilities for centrally managing and monitoring groups of WebSphere DataPower appliances. WebSphere Appliance Management Center is intended for deployments with two or more WebSphere DataPower appliances and which may also span multiple deployment environments (for example, development, test, production). WebSphere Appliance Management Center serves as the control point for lifecycle management of firmware and configurations across one or more groups of appliances. Also included with the IBM WebSphere Appliance Management Center is IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager Agent for WebSphere DataPower Appliance which can be used to monitor key metrics from multiple appliances in a central location.

  • Support for managed groups of different appliance models and firmware levels for greater flexibility

  • Supports new managed domain tasks, and configuration and firmware deployments providing more fine-grained control of the environment

  • Management of deployment policies for WebSphere DataPower appliances, both individually or in managed sets, providing full lifecycle management across deployment environments

  • Easy to use multiplatform installer

  • Support for multiple generations of WebSphere DataPower appliance platforms and firmware versions

  • Enhanced monitoring capability with default settings for critical WebSphere DataPower appliance key performance indicators

  • Easy-to-use and navigate user interface, including support for different user roles

  • Integration into the IBM Service Management solution

System requirements

Hardware requirements:

  • Platform for one of the supported operating systems.

  • Disk space - ensure the computer for installing WebSphere Appliance Management Center meets the following disk space requirements:
       - 2 GB free disk space on installation drive
       - 1 GB temporary free disk space for installation files
       - Additional disk space for log file growth

  • Memory - Minimum: 2 GB

Software requirements:

  • Supported operating systems - one of the following is required:
       - Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard for IA32 or IA64
       - Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise for IA32 or IA64
       - Microsoft Windows 2008 Server R2
       - Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard for IA32 or IA64
       - Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise for IA32 or IA64
       - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0, 5.0, or 6.0 for System z
       - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0, 5.0, or 6.0 for IA32 or IA64
       - SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 or 11 for System z
       - SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 or 11 for IA32 or IA64
       - AIX 5.3, 6.1, or 7.1
