• Client/Server functional level: VTAM® Client/Server is suited to an entry-level networking environment that typically does not require the communications capabilities of larger networks. It supports IBM® Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking® and new SNA subarea capabilities.

• MultiDomain functional level: VTAM MultiDomain contains all the functional capabilities of Client/Server—plus the addition of NCP ownership and more Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking and SNA subarea capabilities.

• InterEnterprise functional level: VTAM InterEnterprise is for large networks and supports interconnection with other networks. It supports the Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking border node for both VM/ESA® and VSE/ESA™ and SNA Network Interconnection (SNI) for VM/ESA.

• Additional Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking and SNA capabilities: Additional capabilities for Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking and SNA subarea functions are also provided with VTAM InterEnterprise.
