DB2 Office Connect is a plug-in for Microsoft™ Excel that enables sophisticated database query and update for the creation of dynamically updated spreadsheets that seamlessly issue SQL to IBM data warehouses or almost any other JDBC-compliant data source. This third-generation connection tool enables end users to "slice and dice" data in a familiar and easy-to-use spreadsheet. Users can produce their own reports through drag-and-drop capabilities, eliminating the requirement for application programming expertise.

Secure Web-based Microsoft Excel applications can be deployed with minimum investment of time and resources. Such centralized spreadsheet models can be distributed over the company's intranet or over the Internet in a secured controlled environment.
