IBM® SPSS® Data Collection Web Interviews Server supports a three-tiered architecture to ensure the customers can secure their environment as well as ensure a level of fault tolerance and system redundancy that is appropriate to their business needs. The requirements below detail a single machine installation, which includes system requirements appropriate to all three tiers as well as the requirements for each of the three tiers individually.

  • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 6.0 or later with the ASP.NET option
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
  • Processor: Intel® Pentium®-class processor running at 1GHz or faster; 2 GHz recommended.
  • Memory: 512 MB RAM minimum; more recommended
  • Disk space: 100 MB minimum
  • Display: 1024 x 768 or higher-resolution graphics adaptor, supporting minimum 16-bit color quality
  • DVD-ROM drive for installation



Disk space requirements for the services are the total amounts that each service requires. There are 50 MB of components shared among all services. Some components are shared among certain services, but not others. The disk space totals here include these shared components. Therefore, the total disk space required to install two or more services is usually less than the sum of the disk space required for installing the services individually.
