IBM Tivoli Unified Process Composer provides the ability to create or modify process definitions and build a read-only Web site documenting those processes for use by other departments or auditors.

IBM Tivoli Unified Process Composer V2.1 is comprised of three main components:

• A Web site documenting best practices for implementing IT Service Management (ITSM) processes based on the IBM process reference model for IT. This includes defined component relationships, activities, tasks, work products, roles, and tool guidance.

This Web site allows you to understand how ITSM processes work; what problems can be solved; what activities are required; who is responsible; and what tools are available to help automate or complete the processes.

• A method library which provides the process models, activities, tasks, roles, and tool guidance in a format that can be customized by a client.
• Rational method composer, an Eclipse-based tool that allows users to customize the supplied method library and publish a customized Web site.

If you have developed your own processes, perhaps derived from industry process models, then IBM Tivoli Unified Process Composer allows you to document them in an easily understood and modifiable manner, for the use by your department and for regulatory compliance.
