WebSphere Remote Server V7 prináša dva nové balíky: IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition a Retail Store Starter Edition with Informix Dynamic Server V7. Tieto dve vydania:

  • Prinášajú vylepšenia funkcií produktu WebSphere Remote Server Starter Edition pod novým názvom a je špeciálne určený pre odvetvie maloobchodu.
  • Zahŕňajú najnovšie verzie produktov IBM WebSphere Application Server (V7), WebSphere MQ (V7) a, v závislosti od vybratého balíka, IBM DB2 Workgroup Server Edition (V9.5) alebo Informix Dynamic Server (V11.5).
  • Zahŕňajú nový produkt WebSphere sMash, ktorý umožňuje zákazníkom a obchodným partnerom IBM rýchlo a jednoducho vytvárať agilné webové aplikácie a zároveň poskytuje zjednodušené posielanie správ pre maloobchodné aplikácie.
  • Poskytujú vylepšené nástroje a dokumentáciu pre procesy inštalácie a správy.
    - Každý balík zahŕňa funkcie akcelerátorov správy systémov, ktoré optimalizujú a automatizujú inštaláciu a konfiguráciu maloobchodných serverov.
  • IBM WebSphere Remote Server V6.2 predstavuje poprednú platformu pre architektúru orientovanú na služby (SOA) pre vzdialene spravované distribuované prostredia, ktorá bola špeciálne vyvinutá na integráciu a podporu maloobchodných zariadení a aplikácií - minulých, súčasných i budúcich. This infrastructure offering extends the IBM Enterprise Business Integration technology to distributed locations, enabling integration from the enterprise to the edge of your business.

WebSphere Remote Server and its IBM Retail Store Server Editions, are a core component of the IBM Retail Industry Framework. The IBM Retail Store Servers Editions are a pre-integrated, pre-tested package of IBM software products designed specifically to support the store of the future.

WebSphere Remote Server Editions integrates diverse systems in the distributed environment, such as existing IBM Point-of-Sale (POS) applications and new POS solutions provided by IBM Business Partners, with the infrastructure to quickly deploy and manage new solutions built around the IBM Retail Store Server Editions.
